Detailed 12 Days Kenya Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will meet our tour guides who will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel by our representative and will be transferred to Masai Mara Game with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley for viewing. Masai Mara is one of East Africa’s most famous reserves. It consists of undulating hills and great rolling grasslands that sustain some of the most varied wildlife in Africa.

You will arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on game viewing where you will spot lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalos, wildebeest, gazelle and other plains game abound, not forgetting the hundreds of species of birds.

Day 3: Full Day at Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will set out for game drives through the unique park which really forms the northern part of the famous Serengeti National Park. Masai Mara supports the biggest population of cats besides other predators.

You will spot elephants, lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Giraffe, Zebras and wildebeest. You will return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Another Full day at Masai Mara

You will wake up at 6 for an early morning breakfast and will set out for FULL day game drive in the reserve. You will have another chance to spot the Lion, Cheetah and Leopard roam the vast grasslands in search for their next meal.

You will also spot other animals including the impalas, warthogs and many more. You will return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Nakuru National Park with lunch in Narok town en route. You will have a stopover at Lake Naivasha where you will enjoy an optional one-hour boat ride through the lake. You will proceed to Lake National Park arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Uganda

After breakfast, you will enjoy a game drive in Nakuru national park. The park is famous for its millions of seasonal pink flamingos and other aquatic birds. You will enjoy the game drive and will spot rhinos, zebra, gazelle, buffalo, leopard, and waterbucks.

You will then be driven towards Uganda through Nakuru town and Eldoret.  After crossing the border, you will be driven to Jinja for dinner and overnight stay. You will enjoy the R. Nile breeze as you rest in the evening.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will depart for Kibale Forest National Park after your morning breakfast driving south via Hoima.

You will enjoy the scenic features of tea plantations in Fort Portal. You will have a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch en-route. Then you will drive one more hour to the lodge after lunch. On arrival, you will relax by the lodge.

Day 8: Full Day at Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing ahead of chimpanzee trekking. The park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including the chimpanzees with approximately 5,000 chimpanzees living in the wild in Uganda. The park is most famous of its 13 species of primates is the Chimpanzee.

It is also a home of species like the rare I’Hoest’s monkey, the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red-tailed monkey and the Olive baboon among others.  You will then embark on the chimpanzee tracking which may last 2-3 hours. You will then return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for Bigodi swamp walk where you may see a variety of bird species and other smaller mammals. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay after.

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning where you’ll spot the ranges of Mt. Rwenzori en-route.  You will embark on game drives in the park on arrival where you will spot some animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, bushbucks, and Uganda Kob, Antelopes, Warthogs, among others.

After lunch enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. It is a 42kms channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake George.

The boat ride offers an excellent platform for photography along which you will encounter several hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and over 500 bird species. You will then be taken to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Morning Game Drive in Ishasha sector and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP known for tree-climbing lions. Here you go for a game drive to see topis, buffaloes, elephants and hopefully lions high in the fig-tree branches.

After the game-drive, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest passing through the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kigezi terraced hills en-route. You will reach in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking in and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, transfer to the Park Headquarters in which you will be briefed about gorilla trekking. Bwindi National Park is renowned for its impressive mountain gorillas, although it is unpredictable for how long you will track before finding them since it all depends on their movement.

You will set out with a packed lunch and enough drinking water, and you are advised to wear strong comfortable boots plus a light rain-jacket since the weather in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is highly unpredictable.

You will be availed with Walking sticks by the park rangers. Visitors are allowed to spend only one hour with the gorillas for the purpose of conservation. The ranger guide will brief you on how to conduct yourself while in the presence of the gentle giants. Trekking takes about 1 to 6 hours depending on the location of the animals. You will return to the lodge for lunch after.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi Depart for Lake Bunyonyi after breakfast, the 2nd deepest lake in Africa. Dotted with small islands with steep-sided and terraced shores. You can go canoeing in the locally made canoes, swim or just sunbathe. It’s a favorite stop for birders.

You will check out several islands like Bwama Island good for birders or you could take a nature walk along the shore on one of the islands helping you to appreciate a variety of small birds or just relax.

Day 12: Departure for Kampala/Entebbe

You will depart for Kampala after breakfast and have an opportunity to take pictures at the equator en-route. You will have lunch en-route and will arrive in Entebbe in the evening for departure.

4X4 LUXURY SAFARI LAND CRUISER

We have luxury latest Land cruisers each driven by professionally trained driver guides and fuel. They have pop-up roofs for proper game viewing and photography. They come with a small fridge for cooling your drinking water while on safari (which is always included while In the Vehicle). They have inverters for charging small gadgets such as smartphones and cameras. They can seat five to a maximum of seven people and each client is guaranteed a window seat.
